This is Boardman Bikes

Everyone here at Boardman Bikes rides bikes, and we are proud that we are Out There With You. This declaration is at the heart of our business and has shaped everything we do. To us bikes are more than just machines, they are a way of life. Just like you, we genuinely are out there every day in all weathers on all types of bikes, testing, refining and enjoying riding our bikes.

We build the bikes that we want to ride because we do ride. We are constantly testing, tweaking and improving to ensure that our products offer the best riding experience.

We are constantly looking inside and outside our industry to see where we can refine our range. Never being complacent with where we are, always questioning why something is that way. It’s looking for these answers that allowed our founder and Chairman Chris Boardman to change the modern bike as we know it. That ethos still lives on in the company today, everything we do today, we do it to make it better for you tomorrow. This is what Boardman is all about.

Company

2016

In what has arguably been our most intensive year ever, we have launched both new Elite and Performance ranges under the new branding. We have increased our roll out into International territories. We have launched our consumer direct operation in the UK. Our athletes have had the best performances ever, highlights being the inspiring performance by the Brownlee Brothers with Gold and Silver in Rio on their AiR 9.9s and domestically Ryan Perry winning the time trial triple crown over 25, 50 and 100 miles on his TTE. On top of all of this we have been developing our World Class Performance and R&D centre which typifies our “Out There With You” brand guidelines and will form the long term base for the Boardman brand, watch this space!

2015

After 8 incredible years which have seen the Boardman brand go from strength to strength it was time for the team to take stock of the brand we have created and evaluate what it means to us and our customers. We set about deconstructed and then rebuilding the brand around the core values of the team and the brand. We are proud that we are “Out There With You”.

2014

In what is another pivotal year for the Boardman brand, the acquisition by Halfords PLC cements the foundation for our brands future. The collaboration with Halfords not only brings with it financial investment but also the infrastructure and economies of scale required to ensure that Boardman is best positioned to keep delivering the best products and value to our customers. Our supported athletes just keep on winning with the Brownlee Brothers winning Gold and Silver as well as Team gold at the Commonwealth games. We also secure a Hat Trick of Bike Brand of the year awards with Tri 220 this year.

Following significant R&D, 2013 is all about product with new ranges of both Elite and Performance level bikes launching. The highlight of the Elite range is the all new TTE which is arguably the fastest and most integrated TT/Triathlon bike in the world. The all new SLR Endurance platform also hits production for the first time and spans the range right from Team Carbon level through to Elite 9.8, once again revolutionising what is possible at ever more attainable price points. MTB and Hybrid ranges also get a complete overhaul with the new MTB FS platform picking up a Bike of the Year award. A superb Gold and Bronze by the Brownlee Brothers on their AiR 9.8s at the London Olympics along with Pete Jacobs win on his AiR TT 9.8 in the Ironman World Championships ensure that we are the dominant brand in Triathlon. This is further highlighted by Tri 220 awarding us with Bike Brand Of The Year. Product development continues with design and testing on the super aero fully integrated TTE well under way. Sales continue to grow in the UK and now Internationally.
