Overview

The SLR Titanium takes the fast-endurance geometry and lightweight spec of the SLR 9.6 Carbon, and adds in the legendary smooth ride that comes with a high quality Titanium frame, with stunning looks to match. 

Frameset:

At the core of the bike is a triple-butted 3AL 2.5V Titanium frame with custom designed tube profiles to deliver an outstanding blend of comfort and efficiency. A wide, carefully shaped down tube and tapered chainstays ensure steering is precise and power is transferred straight to the rear wheel, whilst thin, wishbone seatstays add extra vertical compliance to the plush ride quality of Titanium. A tapered carbon fork and 12mm thru-axles front and rear make cornering a joy too.

Hidden mudguard mounts and clearance for 28mm tyres give the SLR Titanium added versatility for year round riding.

Specifications

The SLR 9.6 Disc Titanium uses Shimano’s flawless R8000 series Ultegra Di2 groupset. Perfect shifts even under load combine with powerful and easily controlled braking to give a truly premium ride experience. A 50/34t compact chainset combined with a 11-28t cassette offers a wide range for climbing and long days in the saddle, and hydraulic disc brakes provide excellent braking power and control.

Wheels and tyres make a huge difference to how a bike feels to ride, and Knight Composites' 35mm Disc wheels blend aerodymanic advantage with a light weight rim to offer the best of both worlds when climbing or powering along the flat. Vittoria Corsa tyres roll fast and grip well, keeping you connected to the road surface.

  • i Ti10 Titanium Frame

    The SLR Endurance Titanium frame uses our Ti10, 3AL 2.5V cold drawn, butted titanium to give a smooth ride and an excellent stiffness to weight ratio

    Compared to our X7 Alloy, Ti10 offers 174% greater Tensile strength and 45% higher Elasticity. In layman's terms, Ti10 is significantly stiffer for the same weight of material. This means we can use far material in the tubes to produce a greater level of stiffness compared to using aluminium, saving weight, and also take advantage of the naturally "springy" nature of titanium to maximise comfort levels.

  • i Tapered C10 carbon fork

    A tapered, full carbon fork with a 1 1/2 inch lower headset bearing increases stiffness and steering precision

    The interface between the fork and the headtube is responsible for transmitting all of your steering inputs into your wheels, so is a key component in giving you confidence in your bike's handling.

    We use an oversized 1-1/2" lower headset bearing to allow a smoother flow of fibres from the fork crown into the steerer tube, increasing both stiffness and durability of the fork. This translates into better steering feel and control, whether carving down an alpine descent or negotiating your way to the front of the group on a big sportive.

  • i Endurance focussed geometry

    The geometry of the SLR Endurance Titanium offers stable handling and a comfortable but efficient position to cope with all endurance events and race situations

    We took a different approach to most when developing the geometry for the SLR Endurance Disc frame. We wanted the bike to be comfortable to ride over long distances, but still have the nimble handling to offer a fun and engaging ride. We took the proven, aggressive geometry of our race platform and added height into the headtube to give a slightly more upright position without compromising on speed. This isn't a sedate, sit up and beg endurance bike; it is a perfect combination of comfort and agility, offering fast but predictable handling to keep the smile on your face all day long.

  • i Comfort optimised seat stays

    Narrow profile seat says offer high levels of comfort, absorbing shocks and reducing road vibration passed through to the saddle

    Comfort is a key part of the SLR Endurance Titanium's DNA - and part of this is delivered through slim profile seat stays. There is minimal lateral force transmitted through the seat stays while pedalling which means we were able to reduce the amount of material used and shape the tubing for optimum comfort and shock absorption. The small amount of flex built into the seat stays reduces the amount of road buzz transmitted to the saddle, and helps to take the edge off harder impacts from poorly maintained road surfaces.

  • i PF30 Bottom Bracket

    PF30 gives a wider bottom bracket shell compared to a threaded BB, allowing us to profile the chain stays for outstanding power transfer

    The PF30 bottom bracket comprises of bearings in a plastic housing pressed directly into the frame. This means that the bottom bracket shell can be wider compared to a threaded bottom bracket as the bearings sit inside the frame, not outside. We've taken full advantage of this additional width to provide a solid and stiff junction between the BB and the chain stays to ensure your power is going into the road as efficiently as possible.

  • i Thru Axles & Disc Brakes

    Hydraulic disc brakes give consistent, powerful and controlled braking in all conditions combined with 15mm front and 12mm rear thru axles for increased strength and steering precision under hard braking or cornering

    Rim brakes have worked adequately for years, so why do you need disc brakes? Modulation is the answer. Hydraulic disc brakes offer huge amounts of braking force, which you can control with just a single finger, meaning you can adjust how much braking power you are using in a fraction of a second. This lets you fully exploit the grip available from your tyres to bring you to a stop in as quick a time as possible.

    When this is combined with thru axles, which securely lock your wheels into the dropouts, the result is outstanding braking and steering, perfect for descending alpine passes or dodging the potholes on the club run.

  • i Tyre Clearances

    Clearances for up to 28mm tyres for further enhanced comfort and grip

    The trend in recent years has been to fit wider tyres on road bikes. They allow you to run lower pressures for greater comfort and grip, or offer lower rolling resistance at the same pressure as a narrower tyre. The SLR Endurance Disc comes as standard with 25mm tyres, which are a great compromise between comfort, grip and speed, but has clearance to size up to 28mm for an even plusher ride if needed.

  • i Cable Routing

    Internal cable routing improves airflow over the frame as well as saving weight compared to external routing. It also minimises cable contamination, ensuring shifting and braking stays smooth for longer.

    Whilst our AIR range is our primary aerodynamic platform, that doesn't mean we've neglected aerodynamics on the SLR Endurance Titanium. Internal routing keeps cables out of the air flow and saves weight compared to running them between external cable stops.

    Not only does this make you faster, it also means your shifting and braking stays smoother for longer because the cables are kept out of the way of grit and grime from the road.
