About the role
Opening in the Spring of 2018, the Boardman Performance Centre, is a brand-new facility, designed and built to help cyclists of all levels push their performance to the maximum. With a wind-tunnel and specialist human performance suites, it is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and analysis capabilities. We are looking for a number of capable and ambitious Human Performance Specialists, with cycling-specific experience in sports science, sports engineering or sports physical therapy. These positions will be integral to the delivery of technical and scientific support services to clients using the centre, and in establishing the Centre as the foremost centre for understanding and improving cycling performance.
Working across the areas of aerodynamics, positional optimisation, and health and fitness, the Human Performance Specialists will provide a valuable role to the Boardman Performance Centre in the delivery of Performance-focussed assessments, services and technical support to customers and clients. The role-holder(s) will work in a multi-disciplinary Human Performance team providing expertise across one or more of the areas of exercise physiology, biomechanics, physical therapy, engineering and performance analysis. They will also contribute to developing the Performance Centre offerings and operations.
We expect you to have: a passion for cycling and all things performance; a strong degree-level education (or preferably higher) in sport & exercise science, sports engineering, physical therapy, or a closely related subject; experience providing technical support and assessments for sports performers; and a brilliance for working with all sorts of people, engaging and motivating them to be the best they can be. We also welcome applications from those who would like to consider part time working or pursue a part-time post-graduate qualification alongside the role.
